Rémi Metsu is a precision stylist with a fierce loyal following. Known for expertly matching his vision to his clients’ look and personal style has earned him a devoted clientele that has remained with him for years.
Born in France, and trained in Paris, Rémi managed salons ranging in size from 6 chairs to 60. A growing list of American clientele lured him to the U.S., working in exclusive salons throughout the Washington DC area, until he opened his own shop in 2006.
His exemplary work has been featured in Allure Magazine, which named him “Top Stylist in Washington”. He has also been featured in Washingtonian Magazine and The Washington Post. Rémi’s national recognition, combined with his reputation as an exemplary stylist, have resulted in styling requests from notable members of Washington Political Society and Hollywood celebrities, including Hillary Clinton and Natalie Portman.
After his apprenticeship with Matrix National Performing Artist Terry Back, Jeremy’s career has been fast moving. His early work involved starting a regional beauty academy under the sponsorship of Columbia Beauty Supply where he traveled the country teaching advanced education and color trends. Soon after landing in Washington at 25, he became the color director at one of DC’s premier salons. Since then, Jeremy has established himself as an elite colorist recognized by numerous publications as well as on television including, Allure, Marie Claire, Washingtonian, FOX, TLC, and Harper’s Bazaar in which he was featured as one of the “Country’s 10 Best Hair Colorists”. As co-owner of One80 Salon, Jeremy has helped establish the salon as one of DC’s top salons. At his core is the focus on making haircolor more brilliant, consistent, purposeful and dimensional. His extensive knowledge of hair color and color theory has led him to be one of the most sought-after colorists in the city.
Heather's journey in the beauty industry began as a receptionist in a hair salon fourteen years ago. She soon realized her passion for hair color and began studying at Graham Webb International Academy of Hair. Upon completion, Heather enrolled in a year-long apprenticeship under a french hair colorist.
Heather considers hair to be a very subjective expression of one’s personality. She specializes in Balayage (a french highlighting technique that involves free-hand painting of highlights onto the hair; a color, remarkable for the dimension and definition that it creates), rich brunettes and has an uncanny eye for creating a believable red. While heather's signature looks can be described as vibrant, soft, and natural in appearance, she tailors color to suit a client’s eye color, skin tone and lifestyle.
Heather's accomplishments include, Allure Magazine, Washingtonian and The Hill. With fourteen years of experience behind her, heather is still passionate for the industry and can often be found in New York, Los Angeles and Miami on the weekends, participating in advanced education classes with some of the industry greats.
Maryam is a highly skilled esthetician who brings 20 years of experience in the beauty industry to every facial. She has built a loyal clientele with her expertise in signature facials, purifying facials, anti-aging treatments, microdermabrasion, detoxifying treatments, peels, sensitive skin treatment, eye treatments, eyebrow waxing and shaping, hair removal waxing and threading. Maryam was featured in the May 2009 and October 2011 issues of Allure Magazine, commending her fast and painless approach to Brazilian waxing.
Maryam developed her expert skill and talents at the electrolysis medical center in Washington DC, and acquired several beauty professional licenses, including a managing esthetician license and a permanent makeup license.
In 2003 she introduced the threading method to the Washington DC area, providing an alternative hair removal service for those who are sensitive to waxing. This accomplishment was recognized by The Washington Post in 2004, signifying that Maryam was at the top of her profession.
Maryam’s approach is based on individual needs and lifestyles, so that every client feels special and relaxed. Her goal with each client is for each one to walk away with an impression of excellent professional service.
Carl Ray is the personal makeup artist to Michelle Obama. A self-taught artist, Carl learned and perfected his skill by applying his mother's makeup as a young man. His craft has been well received by his clients, which include celebrities, actors, musicians, models, authors, politicians, and dignitaries. Carl's services are in high-demand with Washington DC clientele, who know that his touch will make them look and feel their best for those very special occasions.

Peter Perera was born in the mountains of Kandy, Sri Lanka. He moved to the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, to begin learning and practicing his craft. From then on, Peter has been very involved in the industry, working across the globe from London to New Zealand to Bermuda to Miami.
He has also done extensive work in fashion shows, magazine shoots, photo shoots, and personal styling. His passion for hair color shows in all of his work. While adept at all aspects of haircolor, Peter's notoriety, as a master colorist, came through his hair painting and dimensional balayage techniques.
Peter is regularly completing training all over the world to learn the latest techniques in hair and cosmetics. He is passionate about his art and making people happy through his work. Peter works with his clients to create the best color for their specific hair and bodies. Besides his work, Peter enjoys traveling to other countries to do volunteer work. “I am excited to be part of the one80 team. I look forward to work with new clients and creating beautiful, personalized artwork with my expertise.”
Lydia Violi began her career in the Midwest with Aveda, where she honed expert customer service skills. In 2013, she moved to Germany, where she spent two years perfecting her craft. Missing the U.S., Lydia decided to move back, this time to the nation’s capital. Lydia has studied under some of the industry’s greats including NAHA (North American Hairdressing Award) winners Allen Ruiz, Geno Chapman, and Daniel Holtzberger. Known for her mid length and long haircuts, she utilizes texturizing and dry cutting to achieve flawless looks.
Claudia has been a D.C. favorite for years. While working at a premier salon in D.C., Allure Magazine took notice of Claudia’s work and named her a “Rising Star.” Five years later, Allure Magazine listed Claudia in their “Best of Beauty” issue. Washingtonian Magazine also took note and named Claudia in their “Great Hair” issue. Its Claudia’s attention to detail that sets her apart from other colorists. Claudia is recognized for consistently producing color with incredible dimension and creating natural looking highlights, which makes her highly sought after. As the industry develops, she is constantly continuing to take classes to advance her own knowledge and deliver the most professional experience to her clients.
Markell Scrivner is a DMV native and has been a part of the One80 team since 2015. Markell has a reputation for his beautiful and long lasting blowouts! He works to create stylish finishes for every client who sits in his chair.
Markell attended The Aveda Institute in DC and has been licensed since 2017. His sweet spots are medium and long haircuts, tailored to fit the lifestyle of each individual client. Markell also specializes in treating, cutting and styling natural hair textures.
Markell is no stranger to fashion and when not in the salon can be found styling for photo shoots or attending runway shows to keep up on the latest trends. He continues his education throughout the year traveling for hands-on classes and hair shows between DC, New York City and Los Angeles.
Keturah Kennedy has two passions: cutting hair and politics. She came to DC in 2018 thrilled to join our team here at One80 Salon, while being surrounded by all our nation’s capital has to offer.
Passionate about education, Keturah received her bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Vanguard University of Southern California. She spent over a decade in non-profits before pursuing her passion of hair at Paul Mitchell The School in Costa Mesa, CA. Keturah has been licensed in CA since 2013 and is excited to continue her styling career in DC. Keturah’s passion for education continues with hair classes in L.A., New York City, and Washington DC.
Keturah sees each haircut as a conversation with the client and works to create the best individual style for each man, woman, and child who sits in her chair. While she is skilled in working with many textures of hair, she is passionate about curly hair with an understanding of what will flatter clients at all points on the curl spectrum. She’s in her creative element working with the talented stylists colorists at One80 and collaborating with the team’s exemplary colorists to create styles that complement color.
